About Ellie

Today is Sunday, I felt like doing this for a while but just haven't. I just want to write about Ellie a little bit. She is a wonderful addition to our family. She has beautiful blue eyes. Her hair is very curly in the back just like my family says mine always was when I was younger.  Ellie loves to "read" her books.  The first book that she really enjoyed was The Foot Book by Dr Seuss. Since that time Grandma Cheri bought her a collection of Dr Seuss books. Her favorite book by far has been Hop On Pop. Her eyes light up and she giggles with joy when we say the title, even if she is not looking at it.  She will walk into her room, find the books in there, sit down and look at them. She makes all sorts of fun noises. She'll walk around mumbling little "words." She has actually started saying words now. One of the first words she said was "puppy." She loves seeing animals especially dogs. She definitely gets that from her mom. She can also say "bubble", "mommy", "daddy", "uh-oh", "car", "hi", and "ball". She enjoys helping her mom unload the dishwasher.
I love coming home at the end of the day. Once I unlock the door and walk in Ellie gets so excited and runs over to me. At the same time she will sometimes get sad and cry when I leave. One of her favorite foods is a good cheese stick. She also enjoys PBJ sandwiches for lunch and throwing food off the high chair when she doesn't want it.  We have a couple songs that we like to sing. She loves the "Itsy bitsy spider". She will put her hands together to make the actions of the spider walking up the spout. Sometimes she will do the action wash the spider out and swing her arms out. She also really like "5 little monkey's jumping on the bed" sometimes she waves her arm up and down with finger pointed on the part "no more monkey's jumping on the bed". Another favorite is "the wheels on the bus" She likes the wiper, baby, and people on the bus go shh shh shh verses the best.
For the most part she enjoys taking her baths. She doesn't like her car seat. She can stand it for a little bit, but after that she wants to be up and moving.  She likes going outside. At first she didn't like grass at all, but now that she can walk it's not too bad. She loves exploring the world inside and out. Yesterday I took one of our kiddie pools outside on the grass and we had our own little pool party. She has a very good eye and saw a bird flying very high in the sky. She pointed it out to me and so I tried teaching her to say bird, she was getting there. She absolutely pays attention to detail. She LOVES pressing buttons anywhere she can find them, whether they are on the TV, VCR, remote, computer, or even her parents' sometimes. She also will share things with us whether it be her food or trying to give us her pacifier to suck on. I hope she shares with her new baby sister when she comes along.
