The Pumpkin Eating Squirrels

So, my roomate Joe carved this amazing pumpkin. We don't have a picture when it was carved and beautiful, but let me try to draw it for you.* The Kent was the pumpkins smile. We set the pumpkin outside by our front door to give our apartment entrance some personality. My roomate Brad and I each carved pumpkins which were smaller than Joe's so we decided to make a pumpkin man (similar to a snowman, but with pumpkins). Joe's pumpkin was on the bottom, Brad's was in the middle and mine was on the top.
I personally thought that the pumpkin man looked good by our door, but some of our neighbors apparently disagreed. They started to come over and eat Joes pumpkin, and no I'm not talking about the girls that live next door. We have some rather exterior decorating concious furry friends, or maybe they are just hungry. So these squirrels have slowly nibbled on Joe's pumpkin over time. The mouth was the first to go followed by a merging of the eyes and nose until the whole face was completely gone. The pumpkin was having a hard time supporting the weight of the two pumpkins on top of it and it finally gave way.

We've seen the culprits at work many times, but have yet to bring them to justice. We are starting to come to terms with what has happend. So now we decided to adopt the furry critter as our mascot. As you can see we now have a furry friend above our TV.

*This was how Joe's pumpkin was carved:

In case anyone was wondering, I am ratting out "anonymous", but maybe I shouldn't because I'd be mad if someone ate my pumpkin! OOps
